Morgan B. Kirkpatrick graduated from the University of Missouri in 2015, dual majoring in Communication and in Anthropology. She continued at the University of Missouri, obtaining her Juris Doctor in 2018. During law school she focused on all aspects of litigation, and participated in the prosecution clinic, the innocence clinic, and ultimately obtained a certificate in alternative dispute resolution. Prior to joining Rooney McBride & Smith, Morgan served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Labor Division and as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Greene County, Missouri.
Working for the Missouri Attorney General, Morgan represented the State of Missouri in various aspects of workers’ compensation matters. She represented the State of Missouri in depositions of claimants and experts, participated in numerous mediations, and conducted a handful of hearings before an Administrative Law Judge. While with the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office, she handled a variety of criminal matters, primarily focusing on driving while intoxicated matters. She prosecuted contested motion hearings and trials, and prepared witnesses for testimony at trial. Morgan is excited to continue to represent the citizens of Missouri in a wider variety of legal matters, utilizing the valuable litigation and alternative dispute resolution experience gained over her years in public service.
She is a member of the Missouri Bar Association and the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association. Morgan enjoys walking her two dogs, reading, knitting, and spending time outside with family and friends.
