
Brook D. Gipson graduated from Missouri Southern State University with a double major in Literature and Technical Writing. She attended law school at Washington University in St. Louis where she earned both her Juris Doctorate and her LLM in Taxation. A self-proclaimed “tax nerd,” Brook focused on tax controversy in law school, including participating in the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. Prior to joining Rooney McBride & Smith, Brook was a Staff Attorney at Legal Services of Southern Missouri, placed at the Greene County Family Justice Center, focusing on serving victims of abuse. She then transitioned to private practice, where Brook has been expanding her estate planning practice.
While at Legal Services, she represented victims in various types of litigation including domestic disputes, orders of protection, landlord/tenant, and other civil suits. She gained valuable courtroom experience, conducting contested trials and motion hearings. In private practice, earned her Guardian ad Litem certificate, and served as a GAL on many cases, ensuring that children’s best interests were protected. Brook grew into estate planning, assisting clients with all aspects of estate planning, including wills, trusts, and probate administration.
