Attorney Ben McBride has served in an Of Counsel role with Rooney McBride & Smith, LLC since March 2026. Prior to joining Rooney McBride & Smith, LLC, Ben had a long career in the criminal justice system as a Greene County prosecuting attorney, Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, and owner/managing member of McBride Law, a private criminal defense firm in Springfield, Missouri. With Rooney McBride & Smith, LLC, Ben serves in a limited capacity representing clients in general/civil matters but especially enjoys providing mentoring and executive coaching to new attorneys to the firm.

Ben graduated from the Oklahoma City University in 2003 with a B.S. in Political Science and History. After completing his undergraduate degree, he also attended law school at Oklahoma City University School of Law, where he obtained his law degree in 2006.
Ben is a member of the Missouri Bar and the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, in which he is also a member of the In-House Counsel Committee. Additionally, Ben is the Executive Director of I Pour Life, a non-profit based in Springfield, Missouri, that provides positive youth development and strengths based life coaching services to older, at-risk youth ages 14-24 throughout Missouri.
